Postdoctoral Researcher in Experimental Neutrino Physics
The experimental neutrino physics group at Louisiana State University invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position to work on neutrino detector development and calibration tools for the next generation of large neutrino detectors. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on neutrino physics analyses using existing T2K data and to perform astro-particle physics studies with large underground neutrino experiments.
The LSU neutrino group performs research using large water Cherenkov and liquid Argon detectors to investigate neutrino properties, search for proton decay and study non-beam neutrino sources. Key efforts focus on development, construction and commissioning of detector components as well as simulations and data analysis.
Formal requirements are a Ph.D. in particle or nuclear physics or related disciplines. Candidates should have expertise in particle detector hardware, experience with data analysis and strong programming skills in C++ or Python. Travel to experimental sites is expected and longer stays could be an option.
