Junior Tax Accountant

$7080k a year and full benefits

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detailoriented and motivated Junior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic public accounting and tax firm. In this role you will support the preparation of individual and business tax returns assist with tax compliance and contribute to various accounting tasks. Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Preparation and Compliance:

   • Assist in the preparation of federal state and local tax returns for individuals partnerships corporations and other entities.
   • Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
   • Organize and analyze financial data to support accurate return preparation.

2. Client Support:

   • Collaborate with senior accountants to gather necessary information from clients.
   • Respond to client inquiries and provide exceptional service in a professional manner.
   • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information securely.

3. Research and Analysis:

   • Conduct basic tax research to address clientspecific issues and support senior staff.
   • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to the team.

4. Accounting Assistance:

   • Support bookkeeping and general accounting tasks for clients as needed.
   • Assist with account reconciliations financial statement preparation and reporting.

5. Team Collaboration:

   • Work closely with team members on special projects and during tax season to meet deadlines.
   • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or currently pursuing).
• 0 2 years of relevant experience in tax preparation accounting or related roles.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel; experience with tax preparation software (e.g. ProSeries Lacerte or similar) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
