Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the Education, Doctrine, and Instruction for Intelligence Efforts contract, as well as related task orders associated with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOT-D). The Project Manager will work directly with a dynamic team, ensuring the development of high-quality instructional content and training products for the U.S. Army's Intelligence Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for instructional design and a strong understanding of adult learning principles, particularly in military training environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Plan Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create comprehensive lesson plans, including terminal and enabling learning objectives.
Instructional Integrity: Ensure the educational effectiveness and instructional quality of all training materials and consultations.
Adult Learning Principles: Use learner-centered strategies to design effective and engaging lessons that meet adult learning needs.
Assessment Design: Develop performance-based, measurable assessments aligned with learning objectives and critical tasks.
ADDIE Process Collaboration: Work alongside SMEs and team members across all phases of the ADDIE process (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
Adherence to Standards: Follow established templates, style guides, and industry standards such as the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI).
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Assurance specialists to review and refine deliverables for accuracy and quality.
Training Events: Compile materials and implement Just-in-Time Training (JITT) for SMEs and course personnel.
eLearning Projects: For Interactive Multi-media Instruction projects, apply proven eLearning strategies such as simulations, case studies, and knowledge checks to enhance engagement and motivation.
Effective Communication: Communicate effectively within the context of an Army training culture, ensuring that all training products meet the needs of the target audience.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor related to instructional design and project management.
Desired Experience & Skills:
Instructional Design: Solid understanding of the ADDIE design process and experience in developing training materials across various modalities.
Curriculum Development: Prior experience as a curriculum designer, developer, or educator, particularly in adult education.
Military Experience: Experience as a military instructor or educator is a plus, especially within a government or defense contracting environment.
Technological Proficiency: Experience in designing and developing advanced distributed learning products, including distance learning and interactive multimedia content.
Learning Theory: Knowledge of emerging learning theories and the application of these theories to the development and implementation of effective educational programs.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of SMEs, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality training materials.
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and professionally to senior-level personnel.
Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship required.
Eligibility for government security clearance.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Bachelor's degree required.
At least 4 years of experience in education or as an educator in a certified teaching discipline.
Experience in designing educational programs and curricula for adult learners, particularly in resident learning.
Minimum of 12 semester credits in courses related to educational research, learning theory, instructional design, or education technology.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
Flexibility to work within a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
Prior experience working in a government contracting environment.
Experience in instructional design for both online and instructor-led training.
Ability to design and implement innovative learning technologies to improve training delivery and engagement.
