Job Summary

The Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations works closely with the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations to ensure effective and efficient operations of the Athletics Business Office. This role is pivotal in providing day-to-day operational support, as well as financial reporting initiatives to ensure effective financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the annual formation, development, and implementation of the zero-based operating budget for the athletic department
  • Assist with developing budget presentation materials, including, but not limited to, operating budget analysis, annual fund analysis, scholarship projections, and quarterly forecasting
  • Assist with year-end close including, but not limited to, accounting adjustments (accruals, receivables, prepaids) and revenue recognition in the appropriate fiscal year
  • Assist with the execution of the annual EADA/NCAA/USG financial reporting process
  • Develop annual/quarterly/monthly/weekly financial reporting analyses as directed by the Sr. Associate AD, Business Operation
  • Manage revenue reporting, including, but not limited to, annual fund analysis, monthly ticket reconciliations, check log deposits, and receivables/true-up reporting
  • Work closely with internal/external auditors by compiling data and supporting documentation (e.g., NCAA AUP audit)
  • Manage/approve transactions in the athletics business office workflow (examples include travel card reconciliations, pcard approvals, expense reports, requisitions, etc.)
  • Supervise Business Office Graduate Assistant
  • Onboard new staff and re-educate existing staff on existing policies and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining and reviewing the Athletic Business Office policies and procedures manual and recommend improvements where necessary
  • Maintain compliance with NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, institutional, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Lead the formation, development, implementation, and presentation of the annual Athletic Foundation budget

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a Division I Athletics Business Office in an entry-level, graduate assistant, fellow, or intern role
  • Financial account reconciliation and variance analysis experience Understanding of applicable NCAA rules and regulations

Proposed Salary

$54,000 - $60,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
