PURPOSE: The Receptionist provides assistance to the church in answering calls, attending to visitors, providing visitors and callers with information on upcoming events, ministry information, service times etc. This person will also act as a junior administrative assistant, assisting different ministries in the church.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Answer telephones and screen and direct calls to the appropriate associate.
Transfer a caller to an associate’s voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
Greet and direct visitors to desired destination.
Provide callers with information such as Calvary’s address and directions, website, and other related information.
Organize and approve/reject eSpace requests
Oversee and submit requisition of funds as requested
Organize and maintain the mailroom
Run ministry errands as requested
Assist with event tasks and greenrooms as requested by various ministries
Assist various ministries during seasonal high demand times
Assist executive administrative assistants as requested
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when coverage is needed
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Sort and manage lost and found.
Assist departments with various projects.
Receive and inform staff of deliveries.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Six months to one year of relevant experience
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
Ability to complete assigned responsibilities and duties under direction from supervisor as well as to be self-motivated and take individual initiative
Must attend one weekend service weekly
Must be willing to lift and carry 50+ pounds
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
