Starting at $20.76 per hour

Position Tasks

• Working at the circulation desk to assist patrons
• Using online library systems, checking materials in and out for patrons
• Placing items on hold for patron pickup
• Shelving library materials
• Answering questions about hours, services, and locations of materials
• General upkeep of the library, including shelving, cleaning items and the space, adding paper to the printers and copy machine, etc.
• Opening and closing the library
• Assisting with organizational projects in the library, including inventory, shifting, displays, etc.

Educational Benefits

• This position will allow students the opportunity to improve their research and customer service skills, as well as knowledge of Visual and Performing Art histories, artists, and works.
• Students will gain an understanding of systems of library classification and experience in library circulation functions.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Work Study eligible (Check your Financial Aid award or contact the Office of Financial Aid to determine eligibility)
• Able to work at least two consecutive semesters
• Able to work a minimum of 7 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

• Computer competency
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
• Strong time management and scheduling skills
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous library experience or relevant customer service experience
