Our client is a full-service Industrial Power Generator and Air Compressor company with locations in the Southwest part of the United States
As a Power Generator Technician, you will be responsible to accurately and efficiently diagnose and repair power generators and other related machinery.
Responsibilities and Duties - Preventative maintenance, load bank, field diagnosis and repairs of 100kW ~ 2000kW stand alone and paralleling generators
- Troubleshoot at the paralleling level PLC and control panels
- Diagnosis and repair of related electrical components: paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches, distribution gear, transformers, service panels, voltage regulators
- Control operation, programming, fault diagnosis, CanBus technology
- Perform warranty repairs and start-ups: 150kW and above
- Complete repair and diagnostic capabilities: small/large Bore Diesel and Natural Gas engines
- Produce timely and detailed service reports and other related paperwork
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
- Observe all company safety regulations and follow employee handbook guidelines
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and customers
Qualifications and Skills - A minimum of 2 years of experience in generator repairs or equivalent
- Military experience in power generation is a plus.
Military experience with the following skills: Army - 91D, 12P, 52D, Marines - 1142, Navy - GSM, GSE, EM, EN, Airforce - 3EOX2, 2A6X2, and Coast Guard - MK - Experience/knowledge of generator operation, controls, maintenance and repairs
- Experience/knowledge of Diesel, Natural Gas, LP Vapor engine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
- Experience/knowledge of D/C and A/C electrical systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work irregular hours, overtime, after hours On-Call, travel - required
- Valid driver license with clean driving record - required
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-year trade school or equivalent
- English literacy. Bilingual is a plus
- Provide/maintain personal hand tools
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) is a plus
- EGSA Certification is a plus
- Specific industry experience is highly desirable
