Responsibilities & Expectations: 

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to modify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and components at our Southland Automation facility in High Point.

  • Provide repairs of electrical equipment and components.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, diagrams, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in an industrial electrical service repair position with switchboards, motor controls, E-houses preferred; electronics and/or computer repair is helpful.
  • Must be comfortable with electrical equipment and components and have mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Good at developing solutions to equipment operational problems.
  • Read, interpret, and modify documents and schematics.
  • High degree of technical aptitude and math skills.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Safe work practices.
