OVERVIEW:
Working as a Full-Time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class B, you will be representing our fleet as you deliver from Distribution Centers to branches and customers. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded by warehouse employees prior to departure and you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route; most routes average 10-12 stops. The majority of driving will be done at night, with most schedule departure times between 10-11pm, which means you'll be home each day. Since routes are pre-planned, you'll know your schedule weeks in advance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
o Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
o Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class B Commercial Driver's License
o Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
o Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one
o Ability to meet Fastenal driving record requirements
o Possess strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
o Ability to maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
o Willingness and ability to drive interstate routes across state lines
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and maneuver up to 150 lbs
o Ability to successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check
o Pass a sex offender registry check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location
