The Role
As a senior partner in St. Alban’s growing ministry leadership team, the Associate Rector & Campus Chaplain has two unique roles. They are excited to form disciples of Jesus Christ, build stronger relationships with our existing ministry partners and neighbors, and serve among them. Among the many aspects of ordained ministry, they will be entrepreneurial and have a passion for mission: building connections, faith-sharing, serving the campus and broader community and inviting and enabling people to come to know Christ. They are a loving and caring pastor to all members of our community.

i. Share in the leadership of Sunday morning adult education
ii. Support of children’s ministries
iii. Develop formation activities for youth and young adults
iv. Along with the Rector and lay leadership, develop other educational/formational initiatives

c. Liturgical leadership:
i. Preside and preach on rotation as determined by the Rector (Sunday and weekdays)
ii. Assist the Rector with a particular view to newcomers: identify and train lay volunteers for liturgical leadership roles, maintain a rota for lectors, acolytes, intercessors, et al.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Humility and joy in the exercise of ordained leadership in a diverse, complex pastoral setting.
• The ability to serve comfortably within a broad theological context of ‘generous orthodoxy.’
• A lively prayer life.
• Pastoral gifts with a commitment to the pastoral care of the whole Body of Christ and an ability to equip people for ministry.

What we need from a candidate:
• Must be ordained in the Episcopal Church and in good standing with the bishop and diocese in which the candidate is living.

• An opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment that values creativity
• A hard-working professional team
• Competitive salary and benefits, including:
